看到鈴木一朗敲出逆轉三分砲，洋基隊長Derek Jeter面無表情地站在休息室，等到Ichiro英雄繞場、跑到面前，Jeter才突然露出搞笑表情，和一朗擊掌慶賀。一朗的這支三分砲，幫助洋基以6比4擊敗藍鳥。

「早就料到Jeter會這樣了，」一朗說，「打擊練習時，他都會跑來跟我說，轟不出去啦！我想，這一次他說的是『轟出去吧』！」

Ichiro除了開隊長玩笑，也開自己、還有賽事主播玩笑。這是Ichiro今年首轟，上次開轟已是去年8月30日。

「現在我今年的全壘打不再掛蛋，也許主播Michael Kay可以對我好一點了。」Ichiro說。

雖然一朗陷入41打數6安打的低潮，但「救星」Mark Buehrle來得正是時候，兩人生涯對戰58打數，一朗擊出25支安打，打擊率0.431。

一朗是這場比賽洋基隊第七棒，連他一起算，洋基後面4棒加起來，14打數7安打、打進4分打點，是逆轉勝的重要因素。

「今天走進球場，就覺得充滿能量，」單場4支3的洋基第六棒Chase Headley說，「實在沒辦法解釋為什麼，但事實就是這樣。」
