終結黑馬驚奇 納達爾保顏面

身為僅存的種子選手，西班牙「蠻牛」保住種子顏面，挺進到了決賽，同時也終結一段黑馬的驚奇之旅。

八強戰時，Rafael Nadal解決掉第七種子Ernests Gulbis，至此剩他這位頭號種子在奮戰，爭搶冠軍戰門票的對手，是一路從會外賽晉級的德國選手German Gojowczyk。

面對世界排名162的 Gojowczyk，Nadal，第一盤讓對手連連取分，以4-6讓出，但接著以6-2、6-3完成逆轉，將與法國選手Gael Monfils爭冠。

Nadal在過去13次新球季第一週的比賽，Nadal輸了12次，但在第二週有強勢討回的氣勢，「我從沒在賽季第一週贏過，但明天有另一次的機會。」

Nadal表示，面對Monfils，他得表現得更好，Monfils在四強以6-3、6-2淘汰掉德國選手Florian Mayer，第三度晉級卡達公開賽冠軍戰。
